"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News. As we rounded off last week talking about Starfield, we are actually going to be picking up this week by once again talking about that very game because, now that the game has been out for a considerable amount of time, like properly been out as well, not just as part of its early access period but like fully launched, we got some ideas as to how well the game is doing in regards to player count and player numbers. And while we were talking about the fact that it hit 6 million players within its launch period last week, which is the biggest of a Bethesda game ever, that takes into account Game Pass numbers, which we expect the Game Pass numbers to be pretty big because, again, you know, it's a massive AAA title that's being launched day one on the service that you can get at a quite reasonable price on a monthly basis. But what about Steam, where it's not part of Game Pass, where you have to buy it outright? Well, Starfield has been absolutely massive on Steam as well, so let's take a look at that. Starfield beat Skyrim's record for most concurrent players on Steam."

"There were 330,723 gamers on Steam playing Starfield at the same time today. As we reported during the last couple of days, it's really obvious that Starfield has had a great start with tons of players enjoying Bethesda's brand new space adventure. But the fact that millions of Game Pass subscribers would download the game to at least try it out was somewhat unexpected, and that makes today's milestone even more impressive. As revealed by SteamDB, there were more concurrent gamers enjoying Starfield today on Steam than there has ever been people playing The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. The latter reached its all-time high back in 2011 with 287,411 concurrent players, with Starfield reaching 330,723 concurrent players. The post says 325,520, but that was increased shortly afterwards today. As Game Pass isn't available on Steam, these are all people paying full price to explore the galaxy together with Bethesda. Are you playing Starfield with a purchase version or via Game Pass?
Starfield is doing incredibly well. We expect the game to continue doing quite well for a little while as well because there's a bit of a break between Starfield launching and the next big games debuting. Yes, later this week is the Crew Motor Fest and starting today, the early access period for that game has opened. But next week is quite a big one because we have Lies of Pea, we have Party Animals, we have Mortal Kombat 1, we have Payday 3 all launching within like a three-day period of one another. So no doubt we'll see, you know, the Starfield numbers drop a little bit when all that time, when all that arrives, especially considering the majority of those games are all debuting on Game Pass as well. But no, it's been a huge launch for Starfield and for Bethesda. The game is doing incredibly well in a player-based sense. And yeah, it's just another example of how good 2023 has been for a year in terms of gaming. But yeah, this is all the time we have on today's episode of GeoTV News."

"We'll be back tomorrow for the next one. Oh, actually, sorry, we'll be back on Wednesday for the next one as I'm away tomorrow, unfortunately. But yeah, for more news and for more goodness, we'll see you then. So enjoy the rest of your Monday and we'll see you in the next one.
Take care, everyone."
