The IOC is meeting with esports representatives in July

They'll continue the discussion about esports in the Olympics.
Sam Bishop 17 mai 2018

There has been an ongoing discussion in recent months and years about whether esports has a place at the Olympic Games, and now Sport1 reports (as brought to us in English by Dot Esports) that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will meet with esports representatives in Switzerland at the end of July to discuss the matter.

At this summer the IOC will discuss the issue with the games industry and players, with the aim being to enter into a dialogue once more with stakeholders in the Olympic Movement, according to IOC president Thomas Bach, who has had praise for the esports industry in the past.

Esports will be included at the 2018 Asian Games, and has already been included at the IOC event in Pyeongchang, South Korea, earlier this year, running a StarCraft II tournament alongside the Winter Olympics. It's not too unreasonable, then, to get them included in the Olympic Games as well.

Do you think they should be there though?
