Thomas "ZooMaa" Paparatto from the New York Subliners Call of Duty League team has announced his retirement from competitive Call of Duty, following persistent issues with hand injuries.

The Call of Duty professional revealed his decision over Twitter where he stated; "A few years back while on FaZe, I struggled with weakness in my thumb/wrist and needed surgery. Going through that process of getting healthy again was one of the hardest things I ever had to do both physically & mentally, which led to a lot of stress and anxiety. Unfortunately, the injury has returned making it really hard for me to compete at the highest level against some of the best players in the world. Playing through the weakness and pain in my hand just isn't possible anymore."

ZooMaa has had an illustrious career in Call of Duty, playing professionally since 2013. While ZooMaa has struggled with securing tournament victories, his lengthy career that has seen him signed to the Subliners for the course of the CoD League's Inaugural Season and beyond, shows the true potential and talent he has as an individual.

While this does seem like the end of the road for ZooMaa, he did also state in the post; "I'm not sure what the future holds and will explore all options as I love this game too much to walk away completely," which does seem to leave the option of a future return possible.
