Gfinity has used the weekend of the FUT Champions Cup December - a competition being hosted at their arena in London as part of the FIFA Global Series - to reveal that they're hosting three more events as part of the ongoing competitive season, all of which will be held in the same arena.
These three will be Licensed Qualifiers, so a little different from the Champions Cup. The format, however, is the same, and will feature 32 players across both PS4 and Xbox One. This follows on from Gfinity's existing partnership with FIFA in the former of the ePremier League, since they're the tournament operator for this.
Garry Cook, Executive Chairman at Gfinity, said: "We are proud to extend our partnership with EA Sports for this season. With these four events, alongside the Gfinity Elite Series and the upcoming ePremier League, we continue to be at the forefront of FIFA competitive gaming tournaments. We are now established as one of the world-leaders in this sector. FIFA is driving growth in both participation and viewership and we will deliver best-in-class tournaments which will excite, inform and entertain their legion of fans."
