After a disappointing showing at CWL in Anaheim, Call of Duty powerhouse Optic Gaming returned to form at the CWL Pro League Stage 2 Playoffs. Coming into the grand final from the loser's bracket Optic Gaming won two games versus Team EnVyUs to clinch the title and the lion share of the $500,000 prize pool.

"It's really crazy how we turned it around," said OpTic Gaming star Seth "Scump" Abner. "We've been putting a ton of time in as a team and it's just great that it showed off. I'm proud of every single one of these guys. Every single one of them stepped up when they needed to."

Scump's teammate Matthew "FormaL" Piper was named tournament MVP.

At the CWL finals in Orlando, Florida (Aug 9-13) 32 teams will compete fora $4 million prize pool. Optic Gaming will enter as first seeds, followed by Team EnVyUs, eUnited, and Luminosity.
