French football club AS Monaco and Epsilon Esports have formed a partnership, and professional FIFA player Nathan "Sneaky" Nayagom has been named as the club's esports ambassador. Nayagom will also compete for AS Monaco for the 2016-17 season.

Bruno Skropeta, AS Monaco Communication and Marketing Director, said: "We are really happy to conclude this partnership with Epsilon Esports, and it will allow us to be one of the major players in this area in both France and Europe. This opportunity will give a totally new rewarding experience to all our fans. Esports has a really young market which is a growing sector, and is therefore an important new step in the digital strategy of the club."

Epsilon Esports CEO Greg Champagne also commented on the partnership: "Nobody would believe me if I told you that I would be partnering us with an historical football club when we created Epsilon Esports 10 years ago. Today, it is with great honour that I am announcing this collaboration with AS Monaco. Sports and esports are meeting for the happiness of our fan-bases. From today onwards, let's try to achieve the best performances for the enjoyment of our audiences."

AS Monaco tweeted their announcement of the partnership along with an accompanying video. They aren't the first French team to take steps into esports, though, as earlier this year PSG Esports was created, and now Bora "YellOwStaR" Kim is at its head. Do you think the partnership between AS Monaco and Epsilon Esports is a good one?
